KNOW OUR HISTORY
IDP Lampshades is a company dedicated to the manufacture of lighting shades and luminaires in Valencia that began its activity in 1965, in a small space of 300 m2. Its manager and founder, Juan Penadés, and his family, start making completely handmade shades filled with complicated pleats and trimmings, with a small team of 6 craftsmen. A business that gave service to local lighting manufacturers, who trusted in their good work to complete their products with the right shade.
Over time, those complex and handcrafted shades gave way to modern designs of conical shapes, oval, cylindrical, etc., which began to demand a mechanized manufacturing. A requirement that made IDP Lampshades a manufacturing company with machinery capable of undertaking the production of its shades in an integral way. And that meant the need to increase both his space and his staff, which required the transfer of the company to an industrial area of extra radio in Valencia. Thus, in 1994, IDP Lampshades was installed in the El Oliveral industrial park in Ribarroja del Turia, in an 8,000 m2 industrial warehouse, with a human team of 80 people, and sufficient machinery and equipment to manufacture the shades completely.
After 52 years of work and experience, today IDP Lampshades is an international reference in the lighting sector for its design and quality, exporting its shades to the whole world, especially to markets such as France, Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium, Nordic, Baltic, Russian, Southeast Asian and Mexican countries. A recognition based on daily work and four basic principles internalized in IDP Lampshades from its origins: design, quality, customer service and excellent value for money.
